Geraldine Birks
Geraldine has worked in regulation since 2009 for the GDC as an Investigating Committee Chair, Registration Assessor of EEA and non-EEA applications and as an Education Quality Assurance Inspector of UK dental schools.
Geraldine is also a Postgraduate Tutor for NHS England, Dental Workforce, Training and Education Directorate, is a Specialist Dental Advisor for the Care Quality Commission and maintains clinical practice.
Geraldine is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Faculty of Dental Trainers and sat on their Executive Board for eight years, stepping down in 2024.
Outside of dentistry, Geraldine sits on the General Optical Council’s Registration Committee and Advisory Panel as a Lay Member.
