Brid qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 1992 with a BDentSc Degree with honours. In 2016, she was appointed to her current role of Postgraduate Dental Dean at the Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency. Prior to her current role as Postgraduate Dental Dean, Brid has over twenty years’ experience in clinical dentistry. This includes working in Ireland, England, Northern Ireland and Scotland and in various roles; owner, principal dentist, associate and assistant. Clinical focus on the management of dental anxiety led to further qualifications in conscious sedation and hypnosis. 

In 2004, Brid acquired full licence to provide NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) training across healthcare and business. She has spoken nationally and internationally on NLP, dental anxiety and leadership in healthcare. She has also held a role as Regional Lead in the Strategic Performance Planning Group (SPPG) for 10 years covering hospital and community dental services. Brid is a Senior Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Faculty of Dental Educators and an active member of the Q community, Brid is recognised for her involvement in transformation projects and thrives on creating new opportunities to support both individuals and organisations to reach their full potential.
